The World Journal of Surgical Infection, a publication of World Surgical Infection Society, is a peer-reviewed print and online semi-annual journal. The Journal is a consortium of individuals working on the prevention of surgical infections along with general infection prevention and control practices in all health-care settings. We aim to focus on research from the low- and middle-income country setting. Our goal is to provide access to top translational and interventional research to healthcare workers working in the most challenging and resource-limited settings. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted versions of articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.
